First let me tell you about myself, I'm not Indian but I understand Hindi very well because I'm Persian in origin so I  love watching Hindi movies a lot. I even lost the numbers of movies that I saw, but at the same time Im a very hard critic that doesn't love everything or I can say I don't like everything. I watched many films old and new and I know exactly the directors and the years they've been released. However this is not too important to you , let me tell you how I fallen in love with the Devi.

  • It was the year 1983 and I was just 3 years old (imagine!!) when I saw this lady dancing perfectly with the jumping jack Jeetendra on the song Naino mein sapna sapno mein sajna in the movie Himmatwala. from here I loved her soo much that I asked my elder sister about her name and she said ((Sridevi)). Anyway as a child I liked her soo much. Then the same year and Himmatwala was followed by Mawaali and then by Sadma. In Sadma I loved her soo much as a child, she played the child woman so it was very easy for a 3 years old child to love her. And I loved her face in the song Yeh hawa yeh fiza.

  • In 1984 Tohfa was released and she again was dancing with Jeetendra on hundreds of pots on Gori tere ang ang mein. It was a triangular love  story (I hate these types of story) but this film was made in a very good way so I loved it. Though Inquilaab was a flop but it was a very pleasant thing to see her acting and dancing with Amitabh Bachchan in that early stage of her career, who didn't love Saare Badan mein zahar char gaya bichhoo lad gaya bichhoo lad gaya. In that year I loved her face soo much in the movie Jaag Utha Insaan it was a very classical face.

  • In 1985 the lady maintained her movies with the jumping jack , but she also stepped forward by working with another generation of stars like Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol and Meenakshi Sheshadri (one of her arch rivals????!!!) in the movie Joshilay, but the ultimate movie that year was Masterji with Rajesh Khanna. Sridevi was the highlight of the movie. who can forget the scene were she roll on her body and hair to persuade Rajesh Khanna to forgive her?, or who can ever forget her dances on Aankhen to kholo swami jawaani dekho swami. Really great

.

  • In 1986 I was only 6 years old and I understood almost everything though I loved movies like Aakhri Raasta, Ghar Sansaar and Dharam Aadhikari but I can say that I was upset with her roles in these films because they were small but this didn't decrease a bit of my admiration for the lady because I believed in her talent. and I was not wrong when came Karma and Jaanbaaz. she was the best thing in Jaanbaaz , although Dimple Kapadia was the heroine of the movie and with stars like Feroz Khan and Anil Kapoor it was Sridevi who stole the admiration and overshadowed every single artiste with a small guest appearance. Not only this but she created a very sensuous image for herself wearing a red chiffon saari in the song Har kisi ko nahin milta yahan pyaar zindagi mein. This song is being remixed till the date. All this in a side and Nagina in the other side. Oh god what a classical movie. A movie that is too difficult to be made and tell me guyz which actress ever dared to accept a movie like Nagina?? for sure no one would do it except if she is very adventurous and this is one positive point in our heroine Sridevi. With this movie it was officially announced that she is the number one actress though I believed her as No.1 from the beginning of her career. With Nagina everyone in the industry realized that the actress can hold a movie on her shoulders and with this movie my admiration for her reached the skies and it is till the date. For sure if Filmfare would held at this year two people would won awards one is Sridevi and the other are Laxmikant Pyarelal for composing one of the greatest bean music ever in the history of Hindi Cinema (Main teri dushman dushman tu mera main nagin tu saphira).

  • In 1987 and after Nagina the producers of Nazrana immediately released that  delayed movie because of Sridevi`s flying career, though she was a second lead to Smita Patil but again she was admired by the critics but the people didn't love the movie because their favorite heroine dies at the end, so it was not successful. but as everyone knows that this year's blockbuster was none other Mr. India (or Miss India???) yeah everybody said that it should be titled Miss India because Sridevi`s presence in the movie was evidence. Kaate nahin katte yeh din yeh raat was very sexy song and Sridevi danced as she were in heaven with her blue chiffon saari. and with Hawa hawai she was absolutely no where but at No.1 position.

  • 1988 was the year Ek do teen happened but I will talk about this in arch rivals section ,so lets concentrate on our Deva. this year very much was expected from Sridevi and she excelled herself in Ram Avtaar but the people didn't like the movie so it flopped at the box office. what I didn't like that year was Sone Pe Suhaaga I think this time Sridevi and Jeetendra`s pairing was not up to the mark. But for sure the history in that year is being  changed when it is talked about. Today they say that in 1988 Madhuri Dixit with only one song withdrawed Sridevi`s career and stupid things that she was the other No.1 but guyz this is absolutely wrong because no body dared to write any thing like this in the magazines and I can prove it because I have a large collection of different magazines of that period. and the ones who have these magazines like me they will laugh every time they read about the stupid things they are writing today, really disgusting. No one can change the history.

  • 1989 it was a very powerful comeback for the lady with Chaal Baaz and Chandni and these 2 movies overshadowed Ghair Kanooni and the others. In that year I was waiting for Nigahen (Nagina II) to be released I liked it but for sure it was not like the magic of Nagina, but Chaal Baaz and Chandni were more than enough for her to stay at the No.1 position without any competition. Be it Jaani yeh chaakoo hain or Chandni main teri Chandni, both let Sridevi sit comfortably at the No.1 position.

  • 1990 this year it was the gulf war , so living in the gulf I was a bit away from movies but later I saw Nakabandi and I hoped that I didn't because I hate this one. Except for Sri's numbers like Main hoon naughty girl and main lagti hoon Sridevi nothing is more interesting.

  • 1991 is the year Lamhe happened it was very pleasant to see the lady dance on Morni bhaga maan bole in Rajshthan's desert  and it is the same year that I lost my confidence totally in Indian audience and their taste for movies. How can you explain a classic like Lamhe flop at the B.O . Really it is hurting but at least that movie won many awards and so Sridevi plus it was a major hit overseas.

  • 1992 is the year Khuda Gawah was released which is my fav movie in the 90s , I think Mukul Anand was really successful in directing this film and my fav music composers Laxmikant Pyarelal did a good justice for its music.

  • 1993 is the year Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja crashed at the box office. I love this movie soo much but I was not surprised that it was a disaster beacause of what happened to Lamhe, so I guess I was prepared anyhow this was a satisfying year because I saw my best actress of all time do better than what Nicole Kidman did in the movie Gumrah which is inspired by Hilton Bangkok , while Gumrah was a commission earner Guru Dev and Chandramukhi were flops. that year she gave a very good performance in Gumrah and Guru Dev.

  • In 1994 Laadla happened , who will forget Shetal Jetly, for sure it was not a negative role as many people think but absolutely it had shades of gray, really excellent role. but Chaand Kaa Tukudaa came as a big shock to me. I really hate that movie I think the script and the direction were very weak so it was a big flop. but absolutely it's name is very suitable for a Sridevi movie. Plus it has very nice songs and dances so its still worth watching.

  • 1995 was one year I felt that Hindi films became very boring and that of course because my heroine didn't have any release that year.

  • 1996 she did a very good comeback with Army in which she played a powerful role. I loved Mr. Bechara also because it was a very simple movie and it was clear that Sridevi was the central character in both of them.

  • 1997 Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha was not a bad movie but I prefer Judaai , this movie was Sridevi`s swan song the way to go and leave films but she will remain in our heart whether she comes back or not.

  • 2004 The long delayed movie Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin has been released with much hype.
