Chaalbaaz

Chaalbaaz is Sridevi's film. In the two roles of the meek Anju and the belligerent Manju, she hijacks all the attention. Sunny Deol and Rajnikant who play the romantic leads with the two Sridevis are more than adequate. But the film is Sridevi all the way. She charms with her ebullient act, and so much so that every one else is put to shade. the film plot was inspired by the Sanjeev Kumar - Hema Malini starrer Seeta Aur Geeta, but Sridevi's characters ensure that it acquires an identity of its own. The excellent choreographed song Na jaane kahan se aayee hain by Saroj Khan was a big hit. also the villains Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor and Rohini Hattangadi provided a lot of excitement but the ultimate award wining performance for sure goes to none other than the more than excellent Sridevi who keeps you in your seat whenever she is performing be it for Anju or Manju. and who will forget the famous Jaani yeh chaakoo hain lagjayega to khoon nikal aata hain?
